For over ten years, Cynthia has provided professional nanny and newborn care services to Northeast Ohio families. She has experience with multiples, premature babies, and infants with special needs. Cynthia’s expertise is evident, and includes a diversity of topics including food allergies, reflux, and lip and tongue ties. She especially enjoys overnight care; allowing parents rest so that they can better focus on the needs of their family is her driving force in this work. As lifelong Clevelanders, Cynthia, her husband, and two sons love cheering for CLE sports teams and biking in the Metroparks.

What do you enjoy most about postpartum doula work?
I love the variability. You never know what to expect, as every baby and family is unique. It keeps life exciting and challenges me to continue learning and growing my knowledge and expertise. Not to mention, I get to witness so many milestones in a baby’s first few months. Seeing a baby’s personality develop is such an amazing thing,
I also enjoy helping parents bond with their new baby. I am happy to assist them in any way I can whether it be through offering a sense of support and encouragement, or teaching them how to swaddle and change a diaper. I am passionate about helping families transition into a new and exciting time in their lives with as much knowledge, support, and confidence as possible. Postpartum work allows me to fulfill my passion for caring for babies, and their families.
What’s your best parenting tip?
Set aside at least one day or night a week for yourself and your partner. One of the many perks of postpartum doula work is that it allows parents to take time for self-care, especially after such a huge life transition! Making time to connect as a couple is an extension of this. It’s something important for your sanity and for your family bond, not to mention something to look forward to each week.
Where’s your hometown?
What are your hobbies?
Photography is a favorite hobby of mine. I received my first camera when I was 13, and have always enjoyed capturing memories. I love to take pictures of my family and friends.
What’s the hardest life challenge you’ve faced, and how did you respond?
I unexpectedly lost my father when I was 24. This experience taught me to look at life from a different perspective. Because I lost someone dear to me so early in life, I cherish time with my loved ones above all else, and I try not to take it for granted.
