What do you enjoy most about birth and postpartum doula work?
When you get to see the initial moments of a new edition to a family is it truly amazing. The instant bond they have and overwhelming feeling of joy is beautiful. Being able to support these families in any way is what I do it for.
What’s your best parenting tip?
Take time for yourselves. Even if it’s just a run to get your favorite coffee (or have someone bring it to you) or watch your guilty pleasure show. Do something to help your mind/body.
What’s your favorite dish to cook for your postpartum clients?
Cooking is probably my biggest hobby. I am also a part-time pastry chef on the side because I feel food is calming. Chicken pot pie is my favorite dish to cook, but I like variety and change it up quite a bit.
Where’s your hometown?
I am a southern gal from Knoxville, Tennessee. I was born and raised there and moved to Cleveland for love and to explore a new “Land”. I am very close with my large family and most of them have not left or moved very far (Southern people don’t understand when you move to colder climates). I had many changes going on in my personal life and knew that leaving would be challenging and rewarding… so I bit the bullet! Leaving your comfort zone is very difficult but it is so rewarding. It helped me be a better person and a better Doula.
