Get to Know Anna
What do you enjoy most about birth and postpartum work?
I think birth embodies the ability of strength and the capacity of being a life-giver.
I remember how tired and overwhelmed my mom was at times raising 5 children and how the presence of a postpartum doula can alleviate so much of that by being a listening ear and helping hand in a time of adjustment and anxiety.
What’s your favorite thing to do in CLE?
I love discovering new parts of the Metroparks and Lake Erie, and having dinner or drinks downtown on the weekend.
What are your hobbies?
I’m passionate about photography and am slowly but surely working on my own career and business in that field. I also love writing stories and poetry, cooking, working out, hiking, history and dancing.
What’s your favorite dish to cook for your postpartum clients?
I like to throw together a simple casserole or dish made of a protein, carb and veg- simple and healthy!
If you could spend a week anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Italy, where my mom was born, in a terra-cotta-roofed villa surrounded by lemon trees, stuffing myself with fresh cheese and sausage and olives.
Who is a hero of yours?
Maybe cheesy to some but totally heartfelt from me- my husband is pure gold and I want to be like him. He has swept me out of so many rough moments and hardcore supports me down to the littlest things.
What are you currently watching on TV?
I'm obsessed with The Great British Baking Show and I just finished a cool dystopian one called the I-Land.
